Crystal Growth Modifier

blank

In many processes the size and shape of crystals change. Examples include the growth and dissolution of lead sulphate during the cycling of batteries and the growth of hydration products during the hardening of concrete.

The surface active properties of our lignin-based products causes interactions with the surfaces of growing crystals. Different interactions with different surfaces will alter the growth rate and the habitat of the crystals as well. The complexing properties of lignin-based products will in many cases favour a dissolution-precipitation mechanism for crystal growth over a solid state mechanism, which will also alter the habitat of the crystal.
